Matko Marlais

Matko Marlais, FRCPCH, MSc, MBBS, is a Consultant Paediatric Nephrologist at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children in London and holds an academic position as Honorary Associate Professor at the UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health. In his clinical practice Matko looks after children with all forms of kidney disease and his areas of expertise include cystic kidney disease, infant chronic kidney disease, glomerulonephritis and vasculitis.

Matko's research focuses on vasculitis, glomerulonephritis and cystic kidney disease. He is currently undertaking several international studies on glomerular diseases in children including ANCA associated vasculitis and IgA vasculitis nephritis. Matko is a board member of the ESPN glomerular diseases working group.

Matko has been on national and international guideline committees for autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD) in children and is currently leading a sub-group of the ERKNet guidelines on kidney disease in tuberous sclerosis. Matko is guideline lead for the British Association for Paediatric Nephrology.
